Turquoise Coast Gulet Tour

Day 1 Phaselis - Olympos

After arriving in Antalya we will travel by bus to Phaselis , where we will explore the Roman and Byzantine ruins. This area is so beautiful with its tree-lined beaches that Alexander the Great wintered here on his way to Alexandria, Egypt . We will continue to the Olympos National Park . In the park, on established walking trails, we will walk to the eternal flame, Chimaera, which is fueled by volcanic gases. This was the original flame for the first Olympic Games, and the more romantic at heart will be intrigued by the many legends and myths that surround it. In the late afternoon we will board our gulets at the marina in Fineke.

Day 2 Kekova Bay

This morning we travel along the magnificent coastline headed for the Sunken City. After lunch we will go ashore to the Church of St. Nicholas, where the legend of  Santa Claus began, and then on to Myra where we will see the Lycian tombs carved in the cliffs above the ruins of a Roman amphitheater. Returning to our gulet, we will cruise through Kekova Bay to view the sunken ruins along its shoreline. We will see steps that once led into homes; sarcophagi; and walls of ancient buildings and harbors. A 2 mile round trip walk will bring us to Simene's ancient ruined acropolis and a splendid view of Kekova Bay .

Day 3 Kaş

In the morning we will travel to the Kaş Bay where there will be plenty of opportunity for swimming and snorkel diving.  From the boat we will have a beautiful view of the Greek island of Meis. After lunch we will travel to Kaş and there will be an opportunity to explore this quaint town with its magnificent Lycian tombs and Greek theatre.

Day 4 Kalkan 

Today we drive to Xanthus , the capital of ancient Lycia; and Patara, where Paul visited and the birthplace of St. Nicholas. We will swim and walk along the 12 mile white sandy beach of Patara, considered one of the most beautiful in the world. In the late afternoon our bus will take us to Kalkan where we will join our gulets again. Kalkan is a beautiful little town with many features reminiscent of the time when it was a Greek fishing village. In the cobbled stone streets you will find many interesting shops.

Day 5 Ölüdeniz

In the morning our gulets will take us to the Ölüdeniz area where there will be an  opportunity to snorkel and swim in this splendid bay. After lunch we can swim to the beach and explore the lagoon area.

Day 6 Kayaköy - Gemile Island                                     

This morning a pleasant two mile walk will take us to the village of Kaya where we will have a very dramatic view of the Mediterranean on one side and the old village with its Greek churches and monasteries at the other side. We will walk through this ghost village and explore some of the churches. After lunch we will travel to Gemile island near Ölüdeniz. We will hike along goat paths for 2 miles through the ruins of ancient Greek churches, cisterns and a necropolis. There is also an early Byzantine monastery. The view over the bays is lovely, and the sunset from the top of the island is an incredible sight.

Day 7 Fethiye - Göcek

After breakfast we will travel to Fethiye where we will visit a Lycian royal tomb carved in the rock and there will be opportunities for shopping in Fethiye. After lunch we will travel to Göcek Bay, one of the most beautiful sailing spots in the Mediterranean . Anthony and Cleopatra once swam here, and we will visit Cleopatra's Bath , which still remains although partially destroyed by earthquakes. Then we will hike to a view point above the bath from where we will have a dramatic panoramic view.

Day 9 Transfer to Dalaman airport for your flight to Istanbul.
